My career path started at Ash Trees collecting eggs when I was 14; in those days it was owned by Sainsbury’s.  When I left school I studied Business Studies at the City College and then returned to work in the office at the Packing Centre, where I progressed through all areas of management within the Company (DEANS FOODS). I retired from NOBLE Foods after 38 years.

In my spare time I love walking especially around our many footpaths and the woods, I also play bowls at The Red Lion. I have seen a lot of changes in the village but throughout these the Community Spirit has remained.

Over the years I’ve been involved with most of the village organisations and supporting village events and I look forward to helping Kenninghall be the village that everyone wants, whilst maintaining a sense of balance and improvement for the future generations especially in these uncertain times we find ourselves in.

I was very pleased when I was voted on to the Parish Council and proud to be your Chair, following in my father’s footsteps who was Chairman for many years.

I have lived in Kenninghall for over 10 years and love the community spirit in Kenninghall. I became Parish Clerk in January 2019 because I wanted to get more involved in and support the community and felt my work background in HR/People Management could help me be an effective Clerk. I have always taken part in community activities and especially charity fundraising (for BHF, Macmillan Cancer Support and STARS.  In my leisure time I enjoy walking my dogs, horseriding, leisure cycling and crafts.

As Clerk I am responsible for all administration and financial matters for the council.

Address: The Red Lion East Church St Kenninghall NR16 2EL

I’ve lived and worked in Kenninghall since 1997, at the Red Lion.  I took over sole ownership in 2014.

We have always been very keen to be part of the community and have been involved with Friends of Kenninghall School, Kenninghall Kicking Cancer and fundraising for the Lands Trust in 2000 when the woods were created. We have close links with the Church; Canon Lorraine and I did a job swap to fund raise.

Since being in the Lion on my own, I really discovered how important and special our community is. From that point I was overwhelmed by love and support by so many people in this village. From that I felt by becoming a Parish Councillor I could give something back; it’s incredibly important to me to maintain the heart and integrity of our great community.

I have lived in Kenninghall for over 30 years and worked here all my life.

I am well known both socially and professionally. I joined the parish council because I have an interest in the local community and wish to help maintain the rural spirit of the village.

My responsibilities are ground maintenance of the village hall and playing field.

I moved to Kenninghall in 2003 all the way from East Harling. I had friends in Kenninghall and visited the pubs, probably more than I do now, and had always supported the fireworks so I was aware of the great sense of community within the village.

I very soon got co-opted onto the Parish Council as I think they needed someone to look after some  health and safety matters. Both my children went through Kenninghall School, where I also served as a Governor.

I believe in the importance of community and supporting local initiatives whilst maintaining the intrinsic character of the village and enabling progress, growth and improvement.

I have lived in Kenninghall since January 2020, having moved from Norwich where I read Environmental Earth Sciences at UEA, graduating in 2015. I am currently a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a geotechnical engineering consultancy in Norwich.

Since moving to the village, I have been actively involved in Kenninghall Garden Club+ and am currently the Chairman. I have also established a National Collection of roses in my garden through the said Plant Heritage scheme.  I enjoy gardening and exploring the many footpaths in the parish and wider afield.

I therefore take a keen interest in both the natural and built environments, and hope as a parish councillor I can use my knowledge to help ensure Kenninghall remains a thriving, close knit community that has welcomed my wife and I to the village so warmly.

Having family and friends who live in this wonderful village, I have known Kenninghall all my life; after a Self Build project on The Butts we moved here in 2007.

I have always taken an interest in village affairs and was co-opted on to the Parish Council soon after moving here and was elected at the last election in May 2019.

I was asked to chair the council and agreed for one year only. Due to the COVID virus we were unable to hold our annual Parish Meeting, so via our Zoom meetings we were able to elect a new Chair: councillor Alison Holman, who did so much for those of us who had to shield in the lock down.

I will continue to do as much as possible to help the village and look forward to holding our meetings in the new Village Hall.

This year the Parish Council took on the grass cutting on the Playing field and the Village Hall with the help of councillors and members of the public in conjunction with the Lands Trust, which is exactly what makes Kenninghall such a good community to be part of.
